"Lighting the Way" honors deceased loved ones

MERIDEN, CT (11-01-2007) - Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care held its annual "Lighting the Way" ceremony to honor hospice patients, friends and family members who have died. A path of lights through the woods leading to a tree filled with white lights on the Franciscan campus was lit during the ceremony. Donors of Lighting the Way program were present and joined Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care staff and Franciscan Sisters and Brothers in prayers for those who are commemorated by the pathway of lights. The lights will be lit each evening during the month of November which the Church celebrates as the month of All Souls. The month is also designated as National Home Care and Hospice Care Month in the United States.
