Mother Miriam Seiferman celebrates 25th jubilee

MERIDEN, CT (09-02-2007) - The Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist celebrated the 25th jubilee of religious vows of Mother Miriam Seiferman, FSE at a Mass held in Holy Angels Church, South Meriden. Mother Miriam is the Vicar General of the community. The festive Mass included preludes by The Canticle Singers directed by Sister Bernardone Rock, FSE, and by Father Stephen Concordia, OSB, priest-organist. The Very Reverend Douglas Mosey, CSB was the primary celebrant. Reverend John Blackhall and Reverend Jeffrey Romans were concelebrants.

In his homily, Father Mosey made several references to "bees" and "honey" such as the Promised Land as a land flowing with milk and honey, and related these images to the religious call of Mother Miriam to be a consecrated woman religious within the Franciscan tradition. Mother Miriam is the beekeeper for the Meriden center. Professionally, she is a psychiatric nurse practitioner at the Franciscan Life Center, Meriden.

Following the Mass a reception was held at Holy Angels Center.
