Bavarian pilgrims visit motherhouse
MERIDEN, CT (08-06-2007) - Long-time friend
of the Franciscan Sisters, Father Manfred Krumm, pastor of Christ the
King Church, Augsburg, Germany, led a pilgrimage of 30 parishioners
from Germany to the United States, visiting the Franciscan Sisters'
motherhouse on August 5th. The enthusiastic group of pilgrims shared
music, prayer and symbolic gifts with the Community during a Mass celebrated
by Father Krumm and a dinner following. Mother Shaun Vergauwen, Mother
General, presented each family with a pottery holy water font made
by Sister Maria Sena, FSE. The group toured the motherhouse land and
buildings and enjoyed a few playful moments with the goats and chickens.
