LOS ANGELES (10-07-2006) - Sister Suzanne Gross, invited by the National Catholic Bioethics Center to their annual conference as a guest faculty member, presented "End of Life Issues" and "Palliative Care and Human Suffering" on October 7th at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Los Angeles. The conference entitled "Urged on by Christ: Serving the Human Person in Medicine and the Life Sciences," focused on the Catholic tradition in health care ethics. Sister Suzanne is the Administrator of Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care, the Program Coordinator of Pro-Life Ministry for the Archdiocese of Hartford, and Chairman of the Board of the Physician's Health Alliance in Meriden, Connecticut. She holds a Master of Public Administration degree from University of Hartford and a Master of Theology degree from Holy Apostles College and Seminary. The National Catholic Bioethics Center, established in 1972 and located in Philadelphia, conducts research, consultation, publishing and education to promote human dignity in health care and the life sciences, and derives its message directly from the teachings of the Catholic Church. The results of this research are available through its web site and various educational and publishing activities, workshops and seminars. |
