Sister Lucia Treanor professes perpetual vows

LOWELL, MI (06-04-2005) - Sister Lucia Treanor, FSE, professed perpetual vows of chastity, poverty and obedience at a Mass celebrated in the Annunciation Chapel of the Franciscan Life Process Center on the memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Mother Rosemae Pender, Mother General, received Sister Lucia's vows. Present for the special occasion were relatives from Wisconsin, New Jersey, Texas, New York, Missouri and Connecticut. The Reverend Anthony Giampietro, CSB, from Houston, Texas, was the celebrant and Monsignor William McCaffrey from Providence, Rhode Island, was the homilist.

Sister Lucia is an affiliate professor of Writing and English at Grand Valley State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the City University of New York.
