Franciscans join in March for Life

WASHINGTON, DC (01-24-2005) - Several Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist and Brother Leo Maneri of the Franciscan Brothers of the Eucharist participated in the March for Life to protest prayerfully the Roe v. Wade decision of 1973. Sister Suzanne Gross, FSE, Coordinator of Pro-Life Ministry for the Archdiocese of Hartford, led a group from the archdiocese. Sisters from Silver Spring, Maryland, joined the Connecticut group in Washington, D.C. Blizzard conditions forced the delay of the bus from Meriden, Connecticut, by eight hours. Pictured below are members of the group as they boarded the bus. Sisters and lay associates in Michigan had planned to participate but had to cancel their plans due to the severe weather.
