Sisters March for Life Washington, D.C. (Jan. 22, 2004) - The Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist were among the thousands who walked in the annual March for Life on January 22, 2004. The March is a statement in support of the sacredness of life from conception to natural death. It takes place every year on the anniversary of the handing down of Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion. Sister Suzanne Gross, FSE, Sister Janet Siepker, FSE and Sister Damien Marie Savino, FSE, attended the vigil Mass for Life at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and were present at the morning Mass preceding the March. They joined persons from dioceses, schools and organizations from all over the country in the march from the Washington Mall to the U.S. Supreme Court Building. The FSE Community has made participation in the March a yearly priority as it seeks to promote a greater reverence for the sanctity of life.
