Twenty
two college-age women from Houston gathered at a beach retreat house
recently for a weekend retreat presented by the Franciscan Sisters
of the Eucharist. Mother Shaun Vergauwen, Vicar General, Sister
Miriam Seiferman, Sister Jacinta Coscia and Sister Clare Hunter
engaged the women in discussions on the nature and role of woman,
theology of the body, and sexuality. The lively retreat opened for
the women a new view of the Church's teachings and provided an opportunity
for expanding their perspective on consecrated life and chastity. |

In Lowell,
Michigan Sister Mary Anne Linder presented a weekend retreat for
65 women at the Franciscan Life Process Center. Sister Mary Anne
of Meriden, Connecticut was invited to share her insights on the
Church's teaching on women as expressed in the Holy Father's documents.
