FSE Nurse Achieves Wound Care Certification

November 25, 2002. Meriden, Connecticut

Sister Jilda Marie Chabot, BSN, RN received word from the American Academy of Wound Management that she successfully passed the National Board Examination in Wound Management required for certification as a wound care specialist. Sister Jilda Marie is a primary care nurse of Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care.

To be considered for the examination, the health care professional must be highly recommended by clinical supervisors, physicians or others acquainted with the applicant's skills. If accepted, she then must pass a rigorous examination comprising seven knowledge areas in the field of wound care: anatomy, physiology, diagnosis, psychosocial, pathophysiology, therapeutics and general.

Sister Jilda Marie is already viewed by her peers as a wound care specialist, according to Sister Suzanne Gross, FSE, administrator of the home health care agency: "Sister Jilda Marie is always up on the very latest in wound care technologies and advises our nursing staff on specific cases. They look to her for her expertise. We are all proud of her accomplishment."

Congratulations, Sister Jilda Marie, on becoming Board Certified in Wound Management.
