Meriden Sisters Bless New Finance Office and Pottery Studio

October 28, 2002. Meriden, Connecticut

"It is appropriate that we bless this unfinished building for a finance office. Financial work, too, is never finished!" said Sister Mary Richards, FSE at the blessing of the building that will become a finance office and pottery studio on the Franciscan Life Center campus.

The former Walter Shed is being renovated to serve as a central finance office for Franciscan Life Center and Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care and to house a pottery studio for clay therapy. The blessing of the project was timed to coincide with the visits of two benefactors, Mr. Richard Morris of London, England and Mrs. Edna Richards of Spokane, Washington. The finance office will be named the "Richard Finance Office" in their honor.

The pottery studio will be named the "Lucy Pottery Studio" in memory of Mrs. Lucy Sena of Helper, Utah, the mother of Sister Maria Sena, Director of Franciscan Pottery. Mrs. Sena's family has continued her tradition of generosity in supporting the Franciscan Community's projects. For the complete text of Sister Maria's remarks at the blessing, click here.
