Sisters Remember 9-11 With Prayer

September 11, 2002.

The Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist are commemorating with prayer the tragic events of September 11, 2001 with special mindfulness of those who lost their lives and those suffering the loss of their loved ones.

Special hours of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament are being held as well as vigil services and Masses in the various Franciscan centers.

At the motherhouse center, Meriden, Connecticut, a Mass was held at the Franciscan Life Center campus for the community and staff members. Each person held a paper with the name and picture of someone who died last year in the attack. After Mass, the papers were gathered and placed in the adoration chapel. Following Mass, the group processed to the flag pole for the raising of the flag and pledge of allegiance.
