O.S.F. Sister Presents Franciscan Sources

Sister Joanne Schatzlein, O.S.F. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, presented a workshop on Franciscan Sources for the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist, brothers, priests and lay apprentices the weekend of September 6-8, 2002. Sister Joanne received a Masters in Franciscan Studies at the Franciscan Institute of St. Bonaventure University and is a staff member of Franciscan Pilgrimages in Milwaukee. She specializes in preparing and guiding pilgrims to experience holy places in Assisi and Rome, especially those related to the lives of St. Francis and St. Clare.

In her lively presentation, Sister Joanne shared the most recent research available on the early development of the Franciscan order and taught the audience how to evaluate critically writings concerning the life of St. Francis and his brothers.
