Sisters to Speak at World Youth Day Festival Seminar

Sister Miriam Seiferman, FSE, MSN and Sister Clare Hunter, FSE, MTS will make presentations and lead a group discussion at a World Youth Day Festival Seminar on Friday, July 26, 2002 in Toronto. The seminar, "Catholic Bioethics: Building A Culture of Life" is sponsored by the Canadian Catholic Bioethics Institute, the Canadian Association of the Order of Malta and St. Joseph Moscati Toronto Catholic Doctors' Guild. It provides a forum for young people to discuss some of the challenging issues in bioethics with students, health care workers and bioethicists from around the world.

The Sisters' topic will be "Fertility and Its Implications for Personhood." They will focus on fertility as the life-giving capacity of each person. Sister Miriam is a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Franciscan Life Center, Meriden, Connecticut. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Connecticut. Sister Clare is the Coordinator of Campus Ministry at the University of St. Thomas in Houston. She graduated as a Master in Theological Studies from John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family Studies, Washington, DC.

Joining the Sisters as co-presenters are Millie and Fred Mueller who will present from the perspective of a Catholic married couple.
