Catholic Studies Students Prepare for Study in Italy

The Catholic Studies Program of the University of St. Thomas is collaborating with the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist in Assisi and Rome for the University's first study abroad in Italy, May 27 - June 30, 2002.The program is full with a waiting list. Twenty women and ten men UST students, together with three faculty will travel first to Assisi for four days, then to Florence for four days, then to Rome for three weeks. Students will receive three credits in Church History and three credits in Art History. The Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist in Assisi and Rome are helping with arrangements and will provide lectures and educational tours of holy places in Assisi and Rome. Sister Paula Jean Miller, FSE, STD, Director of the Catholic Studies Program, is looking forward to this opportunity to share some of the richness of the Church's heritage with the enthusiastic Houston students.
