Day of Consecrated Life February 2, 2002 The Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist joined in the celebration of the sixth Day of Consecrated Life on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, February 2nd. Special liturgies marked the day on which the Church prays in gratitude for the witness of those called to Consecrated Life. The day is also traditionally known as Candlemas Day, the day on which candles are blessed. At the motherhouse of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist, the Sisters renewed their vows at the Eucharistic celebration. Earlier in the day, members of the Franciscan Sisters participated with other religious orders in the Archdiocese of Hartford at a Mass in Hamden, Connecticut, celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Peter Rosazza.
