Franciscan Christmas Fair Draws Large Crowd November 24, 2001. Meriden, Connecticut Despite a gentle rain, hundreds of enthusiastic shoppers made their way through the campus of the Franciscan Life Center, Meriden, to enjoy the 10th Annual Christmas Fair. Highlights of the event were the three performances of the Living Creche. Children and adults, as angels, shepherds and wise men, along with various animals, process through the campus, joining the "Holy Family" in enacting the scene of Christ's birth in Bethlehem. Of special interest this year was a "Holy Land" booth where the Sisters who serve in the Holy Land sold olive wood products made in Bethlehem. Proceeds of the fair support the programs of the Franciscan Life Center.
