Sisters Participate in Vocation Camp

August 28, 2001. Duluth, Minnesota.

Two Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist, Sister Frances Zajac and Sister Paul Mary Dreger participated this month in a Vocation Camp for youth sponsored by the Diocese of Duluth. Held at Camp Foley in Pine River, Minnesota, the camp offered teenagers the opportunity to learn more about religious life and to consider whether God might be calling them to a religious vocation. Fifty young people participated in the three day event.

Representatives of four religious communities presented talks on the theme of vocations. Sister Frances spoke on "Creation and the Original Love Story" as a basis for understanding the nature of a call. Sister Paul Mary shared with the group her process of discerning a vocation to religious life.

A highlight for the group was the concluding Mass celebrated by the Most Reverend Dennis Schnurr, Bishop of Duluth, who encouraged the youth to take up the challenge of serving Christ.
