The Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist commemorated the 50th jubilee of vows of Sister Mary Ann Schmitz, FSE in Lowell, Michigan, on the solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. Sister Mary Ann is a member of the General Council of the order and has served as Treasurer since the beginning of the foundation.

Sister Mary Ann made her first vows in 1951 as a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, La Crosse, Wisconsin. In 1973 she became a founding member of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist and has served in administration since that time.

Family members from Wisconsin and many friends joined the Franciscan Sisters in celebrating the jubilee at a Mass in the Chapel of Annunciation at the Franciscan Life Process Center with the Very Reverend Douglas Mosey, C.S.B. as celebrant. During the Mass Sister Mary Ann renewed her vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. A festive dinner followed.
