Date of Event: June 30, 2001. Meriden, Connecticut.

Reverend Robert J. Spitzer, S.J., Ph.D., President of Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, will speak at the Franciscan Life Center, Meriden, Connecticut, on June 30, 2001. Father Spitzer is the co-founder of the University Faculty for Life and the Center for Life Principles in Seattle. His recent book, Healing the Culture, presents a "commonsense philosophy of happiness, freedom and the life issues."

Francis Cardinal George, Archbishop of Chicago, says of Father Spitzer's book: "An excellent resource for examining the life issues in their broadest and most profound context. It is also an encouraging and accessible tool for responding to the Holy Father's challenge to build a 'culture of life'."
