Minnesota Students Head for World Competition
April
23, 2001. Cloquet, MN.
Three
teams from Queen of Peace School, Cloquet, Minnesota, won
the regional Destination ImagiNation competition and went
to the Minnesota State finals. One of the teams emerged as a first
place winner and will be headed for the World Final Competition
in Knoxville, TN May 23-25, 2001.
Sister
Colleen Kimbro, FSE, Principal of Queen of Peace School,
is proud of all the students who entered the competition, and
is also not surprised that one team will be going to the finals.
"Our students are very creative and this competition gives
them the opportunity to show it. They learn to work together and
to stretch their imaginations to come up with ingenious solutions
to complex problems."
Destination
ImagiNation is an international organization for kindergarten
through college students that teaches life skills and expanding
imaginations through team-based creative problem solving. Each
year the group's affiliates sponsor regional, state and world
competitions to let children demonstrate their creative problem
solving skills.
Over
the past 14 years, Queen of Peace teams have developed a tradition
of winning in the competitions.
