Lenten Series to Focus on Human Life Issues

January 30, 2001. Meriden, Connecticut.

The CLARE Institute of the Franciscan Life Center is sponsoring a series of talks and prayer focused on human life issues on the Friday evenings in Lent.

"An informed understanding of the Church's teachings on life issues is crticial to Catholics' effectiveness in carrying forward the mission of the Church and in solving some of society's most pressing problems," said Mother Shaun Vergauwen, Executive Director of the Franciscan Life Center. She and Mother Rosemae Pender, Mother General, will inaugurate the series on February 23rd as they address the ways the Body of Christ suffers today in human life.

Each evening will conclude with a meditation and prayer on one or more of the Stations of the Cross relevant to the topic presented in the talk. The CLARE Institute is proud to present a roster of speakers who are both professionally acknowledged in their fields and known for their passionate love of the Church.
