Rome Sister Professes Vows

Sister Raffaella Petrini, F.S.E. professed vows of chastity, poverty and obedience at St. John the Baptist Chapel of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist in Meriden on January 14th. Sister Raffaella is the first Sister from Rome, Italy, to profess vows in the Community. Daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Massimo Petrini of Rome, Sister Raffaella became acquainted with the Franciscan Sisters in Rome. As a lay woman she was a member of a group of young professionals who met regularly with the Sisters to deepen their spiritual life.

Mother Rosemae Pender, Mother General, received Sister's vows. Vicar General Mother Shaun Vergauwen presented Sister Raffaella with the insignia of the order and a traditional Franciscan cincture with three knots representing the three vows.

Sister Raffaella recently completed her Masters studies in Organizational Behavior at the University of Hartford. She also earned a university degree in Political Science with a major in Industrial Relations from Libera Universita Internazionale degli Studi Sociali (LUISS) in Rome, and completed graduate specialization study in Marketing and Business Development in Bologna, Italy.
