A Letter of Appeal From Our Foundresses

October 4, 2000
Meriden, Connecticut

Dear Friends and Benefactors,

Greetings and blessings on this Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. Each year on this feast the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist write to ask your support of the Franciscan Life Center through our Annual Appeal: A Foundation of Hope. Your continued generosity helps us fulfill our mission of service to those in need. We are all aware that tomorrow's future is in the hands of today's youth. This is why the Franciscan Life Center seeks to continuously improve and create new ways to reach the youth of today.

As Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist we are committed to being a medium of hope for others through our programs of counseling, education, spiritual enrichment and health care. This year, through our Annual Appeal, we would like to make you more aware of our programs for young children, adolescents, and young adults. Our underlying purpose is to help them recapture and restore a deep sense of the sacred in all of creation and in the meaning of human life from conception to natural death.

In order to enhance the counseling, education, and youth-centered programs we need to continue to develop youth scholarships, our activities area, animal shelters, environmental surroundings and reduce the debt on our new buildings. We believe that through our counseling, education, spiritual enrichment and land-based programs youth develop a deeper understanding of creation, themselves, each other, and God. This deeper sense of caring, work and re-creation enriches the life of the child, the family, the community and the Church.

Please help us be A Foundation of Hope by printing this page, completing the form below and mailing it today.Your support of the Franciscan mission is deeply appreciated.

You and your loved ones will be remembered in a Mass of celebration on January 1st, the Feast of Mary, the Mother of God, and on the first day of each month of the year 2001.

May the Lord bless you and keep you and grant you His peace.

In St. Francis,

Mother Rosemae Pender, F.S.E.
Foundress and Mother General

Mother Shaun Vergauwen, F.S.E.
Co-Foundress and Vicar General
