Sister Mary Frances Traynor Celebrates Silver Jubilee

Sister Mary Frances Traynor, FSE of the Assisi, Italy center was recently honored at celebrations to commemorate her 25 years of vowed commitment to the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist. Sister Mary Frances, the Superior of the Assisi center, was the first woman to seek entrance into the Community upon its founding in 1973. Sister Mary Frances made her first vows in the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi in 1975, and several years later was asked to found a center in the city of St. Francis and St. Clare.

A soil scientist, Sister Mary Frances holds a Ph.D. from Michigan State University. She currently serves on the faculty of the University of Perugia and is the Assistant Editor of the Italian Journal of Food Science.
