Franciscan Golf Classic Raises Funds for Youth Programs

August 29, 2000. Meriden, Connecticut.

The Fifth Annual Franciscan Golf Classic held August 28th at The Farms Country Club, Wallingford, CT, was a big success, according to Mary Lou Peters, chairman of the event. Proceeds from the tournament help the Franciscan Life Center, Meriden, continue its programs for youth, especially the Summer Enrichment Program and the pond restoration project in which young people are not only the beneficiaries, but are also involved in the work itself.

Golfers from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts participated in the outing. Honorary Chairmen Rich Coppola and Tony Terzi of Fox 61-WTIC Sports Department were on hand to greet players and thank them for their support of the Franciscan Life Center.
