World Youth Day Pilgrims Leave Rome, Weary But Exuberant

The Franciscan Life Center Network pilgrims, exuberant with the experience of joining with three million other youth of the world for the Holy Father's World Youth Day 2000, left the site of the event, to make their way back to the center of Rome and to the airport. Although weary from the hours under the scorching Italian sun, the young people expressed their enthusiasm and gratitude for sharing in this "incredible, awesome experience." One of the young men said the most important message he learned "was what the Holy Father told us: to listen to what God is calling each one of us to be and to do it!"
