Franciscan World Youth Day Pilgrims Visit Anzio August 14, 2000. Rome, Italy. The Franciscan Life Center Network pilgrims have visited holy places in Assisi, LaVerna and Rome during their pilgrimage in preparation for meeting with the Holy Father. Today they traveled to the shrine of St. Maria Goretti in Netuno and also spent time at the American Cemetery in Anzio where thousands of Americans lost their lives in World War II. |
