Awarded Scholarship for German Seminar
Bridal Veil, Oregon. July 25, 2000. Sister Anne Clare Keeler, FSE, Ph.D., of the Bridal Veil, Oregon, center has been awarded a full scholarship from the Goethe Institut to attend an educational-cultural seminar for Teachers of German entitled, "Deutschland im Wandel" (Germany in Change), to be held in Weimar, Germany, from July 30 - August 12, 2000. Twenty-seven German teachers from 16 countries will be attending this session to be held in the Frau von Stein historical house in the famous east German city of Weimar. Students will participate in small research groups, learning about the city of Weimar and modern day Germany. They will visit the Goethe-Haus in the city, the Wartburg, (where Martin Luther translated the Bible), the city of Erfurt, the concentration camp, Buchenwald, as well as attend lectures on "Literature and Change" and the theme of German re-unification.
